Review with Giveaway of the Children's Book "Nate Rocks the Boat" by Karen Pokras Toz

Brandon was so excited to have the chance to review Nate Rocks the Boat by Karen Pokras Toz. He is an avid reader and quickly read through the entire book! I cannot believe how much he giggled and he had to share tidbits with me often! He really enjoyed reading this.

Here is a blurb about the book:

With fourth grade finally winding down, 10 year old Nathan Rockledge is looking forward to a fun and relaxing summer at home with his friends. That is, until his mom decides that he has to go to overnight camp with his annoying older sister. When his best friend, Tommy, decides to tag along, Nathan thinks maybe his summer won't be so bad after all. Plus he does get to be away from his mom's awful cooking for six weeks!

Amongst Color Wars competitions, a flaky counselor, and a bully named "No-Neck",  Nathan turns to his trusty sketchpad, transforming himself into Nate Rocks: 10 year old extraordinaire. His speedboat ready for action, Nate saves the day time and time again from the perils of floods, snakes, ghosts and even the most wanted criminals.

Here is Brandon's thoughts on Nate Rocks the Boat:

"I like how in the beginning that Nathan is telling his mom that he doesn't want to go to Camp Spring Ridge. He wants to go to the regular summer camp that he always goes to with Tommy and Sam. Tommy ends up being able to go with him and Abby. Abby wants to stay home because there is a strict no phone policy. I like the parts of the book where Nate transforms into Nate Rocks.  It makes it seem like Nate has lots of jobs, is very famous and very rich because of the different jobs he has.
My book came with a bookmark that says "Nate Rocks deals with problems and issues that almost every kid can relate to." which I think is very true! NATE ROCKS!"
