Review #2 for Just Natural Organic Care

Disclosure: I received free products in exchange for my honest opinion of them.

You may remember me posting a review for Just Natural Organic Care about 2 months ago. I was excited when they asked me to review more of their products. My contact, Carmilo, felt bad that I had a very mild allergic reaction to the first soap that they sent me. So he insisted that I select one that did not have any ingredients in it that I am allergic to. (Which prompted me to include allergens in my Media Kit as well :) )

Just Organic Natural Care has a wide range of natural soaps. They have soaps for men, soaps for women and soaps for acne, too!

I chose their Bliss soap

This soap is fantastic. It can feel how well it cleanses my hands and moisturizes my skin. I absolutely love the scent. You can smell it from across the room! But it isn't a heavy perfum-y scent. It is a light scent that just makes the bathroom smell wonderful (not something that can always be said!)

Check out this AMAZING ingredient list:
Avocado Fruit Oil, Passion Fruit Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Illipe Butter, Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond Butter, Castor Bean Oil Saponified, Natural Herbal Colorants and Essential Oil Fragrance Blend, Cucumber Peel Extract.

I had commented in my last review for Just Natural Organic Care that now that I no 'poo, I really miss having a light scent to my hair after washing it. So my contact for JNOC suggested that I try their organic hair scent. It took me a while to get used to the scent as it is nothing like a mainstream scent that I can place. It is nearly impossible for me to describe the scent but the closest that I think I could come would be to say it is lightly flower-y with a bit of a woodsy scent.

The hair scent has been PERFECT, now that the weather has gotten warmer, to use to "freshen up" in between showers, after exercising, spending an extended period of time outdoors getting sweaty, or before going out for dinner. It is a great way to feel fresher without having to take the time to fully freshen up.

 Another INCREDIBLE ingredient list:

Purified Spring Water, Chamomile Extract, Calendula Flower Extract, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Vitamin E, Essential Oils of Sweet Orange, Pink Grapefruit, Lemongrass, Ylang Ylang, Honeysuckle Rose Extract.

One of my favorite features of the bottle is that there is a lock on the trigger. I think this is excellent for traveling and to keep little hands from spraying it everywhere (anyone else have a toddler who enjoys such games? :) )

Overall, this really is a new favorite company of mine. I have really enjoyed using their products.

Review with Giveaway for White-o-Coccoli Children's Tableware (US and Canada only, Ends 06/08/13)

Disclaimer: I received products for just the cost of shipping in exchange for my opinions about them. I was not required to write a positive review in exchange.

White-o-Coccoli - Sounds like broccoli, only your children will love seeing their "green"' products at the table!

Daniella was so excited to receive White-o-Coccoli's new line of tableware to try out. She received the 3 piece Pink Princess themed bamboo fiber tableware set, plus a Smiley Spoon (made from bamboo)..

This bamboo fiber tableware is made to replace plastic and melamine children's tableware. The bamboo fiber is an eco-friendly alternative that is made from bamboo pulp which has been heated and pressed into shape. This process allows the bamboo tableware to be colored using a soy based, food-safe coloring. The tableware is dishwasher safe, waterproof, and heat safe.

You can use and wash this tableware just like any others! It can be used for up to three years after it was first washed (which is comparable in how long "typical" children's tableware is good for) and then you can BURY it into the ground where it will NATURALLY decompose over the next three years! What a great way to teach your child about composting! :)

When you wash the tableware, be sure not to scrub it with abrasive sponges because there is no melamine coating to protect the pictures that are on it. The loving mama who makes these wants to keep those chemicals away from your kids! The pictures will fade over time however, the color will last as long as the tableware itself does.

Each three piece set includes a cup ( 2 3/4" diameter x 4" high), a bowl (5 3/4" diameter x 2" high) and a plate (7 3/4" diameter).

I highly recommend getting your child a Smiley Spoon to go with their set! Your child's name can be engraved in the handle!

Daniella LOVES using her "big girl" Princess cup. So far, she only drinks water from it (which is her main drink anyway), but with as well as she is doing, she will "graduate" to her almond milk being added soon.

A small note that I wanted to make about the Princess design in particular - for those of you, like me, who are not fond of the Disney "push" to make your daughter a princess, this is the set for you! While it has a princess on the plate (with a unicorn), the bowl has just a castle and the cup has a unicorn! Daniella loves the cup the most as she is into "magical creatures" thanks to her brother's love of Harry Potter :) You can't find too many unicorn things for young girls. I do wish that there was a yellow, light blue or purple option for the princess theme as Daniella doesn't love pink as much as those colors! :)

White-o-Coccoli offers 4 great sets of children's bamboo fiber tableware:

                                                               GREEN - Dinosaurs
TURQUOISE - Robots
PINK - Princess
BLUE - Underwater

Benefits to using White-o-Coccoli's Tableware include:

-Human friendly
- Earth friendly
-Biodegradeable
-Fun for kids
-Encourages child to eat
-Great prices
-Made from a renewable resource

Don;t forget to check out their blog to recipes!

Here is a note from our sponsor:

"I would love for parents to know that the bamboo fiber line is dishwasher safe (under 115*), stackable, and Eco safe! Use it for up to three years then simply bury in the ground or toss, your mind can be at ease knowing that it will naturally decompose over the next three to six years!
The bamboo fiber is smooth to the touch and has also been a real favorite for children with autism!

I would also love for parents to know that I am just one Ma on a mission to rid the world of plastic and melamine tableware for children by offering parents Eco friendly alternatives that are just as good for our children as they are for the planet!

White-o-Coccoli is always offering different specials on all of our fun products! Keep your eyes peeled on our website or facebook page to keep up to date with the latest sales and specials! FREE Eco tote with every bamboo fiber purchase for all of your readers!"

White-o-Coccoli has generously offered to provide four personalized bamboo children's spoons to the winner of the giveaway! Each spoon is personalized by hand so even the most unique names can be displayed! Up to 12 letters per spoon.

Review with Giveaway for Squatty Potty (US and Canada only, Ends 06/02/13)

**Disclosure: FTC's new policies dictate that I must inform you at the top of this post that this post may contain advertising and promotional links. Because apparently, the disclosure at the bottom of the post isn't visual enough... **

I contacted Squatty Potty a few months ago about doing a review for all of you. I hope you enjoy it.

I just want to say right at the beginning that I know "potty talk" can be uncomfortable. But it is important for health reasons that your body is expelling its waste efficiently and in good timing. You don't want waste sitting in your body for very long and festering. Not only does that make your belly feel uncomfortable, but it has the potential to encourage your body to absorb the bad stuff that it originally intended to flush out.
Did you know that in other cultures, it is typical to squat while eliminating from the body? Us "fancy Americans" like to sit on our porcelain thrones but it really isn't the best way for our body to eliminate. It is not the natural way of sitting. Things aren't lined up right. Squatting has been proven to aid in the elimination process by straightening out your anal rectal angle to prevent blockage of fecal mater in your colon.

I have had difficulty most of my life with eliminating efficiently. I never had constipation issues, things just took awhile to move along. I have noticed a huge difference since I began using the Squatty Potty. I eliminate faster than without it and more often than I used to. I used to move my bowels about 3-4 times a week. Now I go almost daily.

So what is a Squatty Potty, you ask? It is a step stool of sorts that wraps around the base of your toilet. It has spots on either side that are large enough to place your feet on to lift your feet and legs to the more natural squatting position while sitting on the toilet. It conveniently tucks under and around the toilet out of the way when not in use.

While I am typically the only one in the house who uses it, I know that my son has used it on occasion. In fact, I have encouraged him to at times when he has complained of a belly ache. Daniella is still too short to use it. My husband has tried it, but says that he feels awkward with his knees up near his ears. That is a bit of an exaggeration... However, it does take some getting used to.

Do you SEE the change in posture?!?!

Overall, I feel that the Squatty Potty is a good idea for health reasons. I highly recommend it and suggest that you check it out for your family. I want one for every bathroom!

Some other things about Squatty Potty that I would like to highlight:

*Economical with out compromising efficacy
*Ergonomic to allow for proper alignment for easier and efficient elimination
*Durable, built to last a lifetime
*Kid and Family approved (toddlers and kids LOVE it)
*Clean and sanitary
*Weight Capacity: 350 lbs

When I asked Squatty Potty if they had any current specials, they told me - "We have the Classic on sale for $49.99.  Not sure how long that will last.  We don't have any other specials scheduled at this time." So get it while it is on sale!! Or you can use discount code 'special10' for 10% off your order (this code does not apply to 3 packs or sale prices).

UPDATED TO INCLUDE A RECENT CHANGE IN SQUATTY POTTY'S WEBSITE. IF YOU TRIED TO PREVIOUSLY USE THE DISCOUNT CODE GIVEN AND IT DID NOT WORK OR WERE CONFUSED ABOUT THERE BEING ONLY ONE VARIETY OF THE SQUATTY POTTY, THIS IS WHY :) PLEASE CHECK OUT THEIR NEW WEBSITE!!!

Squatty Potty is generously offering a giveaway for all of you. This is what they had to say about it:

"We will be providing a Squatty Potty Ecco.  This stool is family-friendly and built to last! It's our best seller!
This is a great option for any family and budget. So strong and easy to clean it screams of functionality. They can choose from 7" or 9".  (see our website for how to choose size)" a Rafflecopter giveaway

Review with Giveaway for Parking Pal (Ends 06/02/13, US and Canada only)

**Disclosure: FTC's new policies dictate that I must inform you at the beginning of this post that this post may contain advertising and promotional links. Because apparently the disclosure at the bottom of the post isn't visual enough... **

I contacted Parking Pal a couple of months ago about doing a review for all of you. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Daniella is now 2.5 years old and is growing more and more independent every day. Most days she doesn't want to sit in her stroller or hold my hand while walking in a store or on the sidewalk. She knows that she must hold a hand in the parking lot and when we open the door to leave a store, restaurant, church, etc. But most of the time, she wants to walk "all my byself" as she so adorably puts it.

She also wants to climb into her car seat by herself. Which is no easy task. I drive a Honda Pilot and her car seat is rear facing. So it is a high vehicle, plus she can't just climb up onto the floor boards and then scramble up into her seat. She has to climb up the side of the seat and then climb over the side of her car seat to get in. I stand behind her and more or less shadow her and stand ready to catch her if she missteps.
The Parking Pal allows for some of this independence while giving me some peace of mind. Imagine walking out of the store, holding your child's hand. You probably have a bag or two of purchases, your purse, your keys, possibly your cell phone (we all know that they ring most when our hands are full). Now you reach your vehicle, and what do you need to do? First, you need a free hand to unlock the door. Hmmm... But you have all of this stuff in your hands? Now that we have a Parking Pal, I simply ask Daniella to find her Parking Pal for me as we approach the truck and she is out of harm's way. She happily places her hand on her Parking Pal, allowing me the moment to unlock the door. If I need the additional 10 seconds to open the trunk to deposit my bags, I take advantage of the learning opportunities that the Parking Pal offers. I may ask Daniella to find me the letter P or to count the fish or show me the color blue. By the time she finds what I have asked for, my bags are deposited in the trunk and it is closed. My hands are now free to assist her into her car seat.

Despite this - do NOT EVER leave your child unattended while using the Parking Pal!

On the occasions that we don't utilize the Parking Pal and simply load her in, she insists that we remove the Parking Pal from the side of the truck and place it in front of her long enough for her to give it a high five! Such a goofy child. But she has truly come to love her Parking Pal and loves the independence it allows her.

When our son was young, we did something similar and asked him to place his hand on the car door. He would commonly complain that the car door was hot. The Parking Pal, being a magnet, does not generate heat. Not once, even in Hotlanta, has it been too hot for her little hands.

Parking Pal has recently come out with a new product as well that is a wall decal for a Emergency Phone List that you place on the wall by the phone. It is recommended that you write on it with a fine tip marker. You can use a permanent marker. You can remove it to fix mistakes or update numbers with 91% alcohol if needed. And because it is a wall decal, you can remove it and re-position it or move it to another room that has a phone!

I haven't tried out the Penalty Pal but this is a wall decal they make that can be used to designate a specific time out spot.

Parking Pal Magnet is generously offering a discount code for all of you for 20% off!  Use discount code PP2013. Parking Pal is letting one lucky winner receive a Parking Pal and an Emergency Phone Number List! a Rafflecopter giveaway

Review with Giveaway for SoftBums Cloth Diapers (U.S. Only, Ends 05/26/13)

Disclosure: FTC's new policies dictate that I *must* disclose to you at the top of this post that this post may contain advertising and promotional links. Because apparently, the FTC thinks that you are too stupid to figure it out or to notice the disclosure at the bottom of the post.

I was very excited when I learned about SoftBums cloth diapers. Not only are the diapers made in the USA, but I really love how custom fitting they are! So when SoftBums agreed to let me do a review for all of you, I was all over it! Please read the About Us section on the SoftBums website to learn more about how they got started!

SoftBums has two versions of cloth diapers, the Omni and the Echo. Plus, both versions are available with either Velcro closure or snap closure so you can truly have the cloth diapers of your dreams!!
Since Daniella is really into farm animals, I just knew that she would love the Cowie print. I chose to review an Omni with Velcro closure. She instantly fell in love with the Cowie print! I love the brightness of the green on the diaper.

SoftBums also have an awesome NEW one size pods as the inserts! These are HUGE and incredible at absorbing.

While these pods are incredible, I do believe that it is a little deceptive that the diapers are marketed as Made in the USA while the pods are made in China. :(  I do not see that listed anywhere on their website, but the tag on the pod says so.

This Omni diaper is geared to fit all legs widths from 4" - 14" for NO red marks EVER. Made to fit babies from 5lbs to toddlers up to 40 lbs.

^Very minor, barely visible fraying on the edges of the Velcro. This does not affect it's usage^

^To use it as a cover^

^To use it as an insert since the Omni is multi purpose, you can use it as a pocket, a cover or an AI2!^

^SlideSize feature allows you to get a true custom fit for your little one! This eliminates the need for rise snaps^

^This is where the SlideSize feature tucks away so that it is not against your little one's skin^

^The diaper is well fitting and very trim despite the size of the pod. Daniella weighs 28 lbs.^

Shortly after receiving the Cowie (As Daniella calls it!), we used it as a pocket and unfortunately, Daniella had diarrhea in it. Maybe I just have a sensitive nose but it took 5 washes plus some sunning to fully get the smell out of the shell. Ick!
Overall, the diaper is great. Now that Daniella is day time potty trained and *mostly* overnight trained (Only wakes up wet two, maybe three times a week), this diaper will soon be retired in the hopes that we will be blessed with another child. In the meantime, I am sure that it will help us to continue waking up with dry bedding = NO LEAKS! :)

**I do recommend to SoftBums that the edit their website to indicate that their pods are made in China.**

Each month, SoftBums puts out a special new print or color! They call this Calendar Bums. Each and every month they introduce a new limited edition color or print. It varies from Omni to Echo and Velcro or Snaps. This month's is Grape for May's Calendar Bum! Grape is great for those little princesses, but little boys can totally rock the purple too (especially those Minnesota sports fans)!

EDITED TO ADD THIS NOTE FROM SOFTBUMS (AFTER READING MY REVIEW):
Thank you for your review. Some of our pods are in fact made in the USA. All of the shells are :) The pods (inserts) are difficult for us to make in the states while keeping the price affordable for our customers; so some are made in China. We've found some awesome American agents to partner with overseas that scout out the best factories to make these products fairly - We only use factories that are fair trade certified.

Also, we wanted to let you know that we will be updating our site to say that the super pods are made in China, just fyi :)

YAY! :) I am super glad to hear ALL of this! :) Thank you, SoftBums!

One lucky winner gets to win a SoftBums Omni  with a super dry touch pod!
