Review with Giveaway for Tooth Tissues (Ends 06/23/13), US Only)

Disclosure: I received a free product from Tooth Tissues in exchange for my opinion about them. I was not required to write a positive review.

I was very excited to try Tooth Tissues. Daniella has not always been a great teeth brusher. I have tried just about every trick in the book. She liked the gum massager for forever but a couple of months ago she started biting me while my finger was in her mouth. Yikes! She wasn't being mean, I think that she was gagging and biting as a reflexive response. She has a really bad gag reflex. Anything goes back too far and she quickly tries to close her mouth. Well, I needed to find something new. Toothbrushes work sometimes but not always. So I found Tooth Tissues.

Tooth Tissues are primarily geared for babies through 16 months of age. However, on Tooth Tissues's website under FAQ, you can see this:
"Tooth Tissues can be used exclusively to clean a baby's mouth/teeth until their back molars arrive, which is on average 16 months. So, if you count your baby's teeth... and there are only the front 6 on the top and bottom, the Tooth Tissues will still serve you well by themselves.

When the primary molars are in, a toothbrush should be the primary form of oral hygiene especially at night. However, with that said, in both our offices, we hand out samples for babies, children and adults alike because there are many times you will not have a toothbrush handy and the xylitol in the wipes and the physical removal of plaque will help prevent tooth decay. Tooth Tissues can be used after juice or snack when you are on the go."

A couple of weeks ago, I was especially happy that we had these on hand. Daniella was riding her horse on wheels scoot toy through our kitchen chasing Brandon. Well, suddenly, Horsey was going too fast and Daniella flew off and faceplanted on our hardwood floors. She landed right on her chin and bit her tongue in 5 places. We spent the next couple of hours in the emergency room verifying whether stitches were needed or not. She had 3 puncture wounds and 2 gouges, one of which was the length of my thumbnail. That one was the one that worried me the most. Thankfully, no stitches were needed! However, her mouth was very sore and sensitive for the next few days.

The Tooth Tissues were PERFECT for cleaning her mouth during this time!

She felt like such a big girl! The package is super easy to open - she could open them herself. You open it just like you would a disposable baby wipe pack. I think these are also perfect for on the go - after a meal out, a birthday party, etc. Convenient to drop in the diaper bag!

I especially liked that they are made of bamboo, are fluoride free (something that even us adults do around here!) and have xylitol in them which is proven to help prevent tooth decay! Plus no parabens!

You have to love this ingredient list too -

Water, glycerin, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, hydrated silica, xylitol, xanthan gum, sodium levulinate, sodium phytate, and potassium sorbate.
Sodium Levulinate is a corn derived preservative that is 100% natural and eco-friendly. Sodium Phytate is a rice bran derivative that is a stabilizer. It is 100% natural and eco-friendly.

Tooth Tissues even has a great Dental Tips section on the website!
