Milkmakers Lactation Cookies It's a Mix! Review with Giveaway (US Only, Ends 08/04/13)

Disclosure: I received a free bag of cookie mix in exchange for my opinion about them. I was not required to post a positive review.

I was sent a bag of Milkmakers Lactation Cookies It's a Mix! to try. This mix is available in a dairy free, gluten free variety (which is what I tried) and a regular variety  which can be made dairy free simply by substituting the butter for coconut oil.

Nourishing moms (and moms-to-be) naturally.

Lactation cookies are an easy, delicious, and nutritious way to help boost milk supply.

Baked into each Milkmakers lactation cookie are oats, brewer’s yeast, and flax seed – traditional remedies used to help increase breast milk production. Semi-sweet chocolate or raisins add the perfect touch of sweetness to every bite.

One to two nutritious cookies a day can help breastfeeding moms reap the full benefits of Milkmakers cookies. Store your cookies in the freezer and take them out as needed.

Key ingredients in Milkmakers cookies include oats, brewer’s yeast and flax seed.

Oats are eaten by nursing moms worldwide to boost breast milk supply and are a nutritional powerhouse, providing plenty of whole grains, fiber, iron, and an abundance of healthy vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Brewer’s yeast is a traditional herbal remedy used to stimulate and increase the production of breast milk and is a rich source of the B-vitamins and amino acids essential for nursing moms and their babies.

Flax seed provides an abundance of omega-3 fatty acids, necessary for brain development, which can be passed from mother to baby through breast milk. These ingredients work together to make Milkmakers a wholesome, beneficial treat for breastfeeding moms.

We pride ourselves on using only premium, all-natural ingredients to provide the best for you and your baby. Milkmakers can help moms with their milk production. But if you aren’t nursing, you can still enjoy Milkmakers. Don’t worry dads, you won’t be helping out with the nursing anytime soon!

Every cookie is made using all natural and mostly organic ingredients with no preservatives. Milkmakers are baked fresh and delivered straight to your door!

At Milkmakers, we are committed to helping moms meet their breastfeeding goals…one cookie at a time. Enjoy!

Daniella currently nurse primarily before bed at night and first thing in the morning. She will occasionally nurse once either before or after nap as well. I baked these cookies in my own kitchen which was interesting :) instead of having them premade.

The instructions for how to make them are right on the back of the package which makes it super easy.

(By the way, did you notice that their logo looks like a pair of breasts? How appropriate!)

There is a little blurb on the back of the bag showing why lactation cookies are so goo d for you.

The instructions were so easy to follow!

This was all of the needed ingredients - yes it is THAT easy!

2 eggs

Beat them with the melted coconut oil

Add the mix

Blend and bake!

The finished product! They are delicious. I ate one a day for about a week. (Daniella snitched a few, too!) They are oatmeal chocolate chip and very yummy. I love that they are gluten free and easy to make dairy free. Such a healthy list of ingredients! I did not feel a difference in my breasts for an increase in milk nor do I pump so I didn't see anything that way either BUT I DID notice that Daniella began nursing for longer periods of time when she did nurse so apparently SHE noticed a difference in my milk! :)

If you are having supply issues with your milk, I do recommend that you try these cookies. They even have a subscription service that you can sign up for!

They have a variety of different giveaways coming up, so be on the look out in their newsletter and on their Facebook page. They'll be giving away an awesome partner product as well as a starter bag of bumpboosters every Friday this summer.  Like them on Facebook to participate.

You can enter to win a starter bag of cookies (bumpboosters or milkmakers) and a bag of their milkmakers "It's a Mix"! The winner can choose either their regular cookie mix or the gluten free mix.

  10. The thing I like most is that it doesn't require a bunch of other additional ingredients
