Help Your Little One Sleep Better With Holistic Baby Acupressure System (Review with Giveaway, Ends 02/17/14, US Only)

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I was very excited to receive the Holistic Baby Acupressure System because Daniella (who turned three in October) was not yet routinely sleeping through the night for more than 5-6 hours at a time. Since Michael and I both work wonky hours, the lack of sleep was really beginning to take its toll on us. We don't believe in letting our children Cry It Out and we have a family bed. I wanted to try something that went along with those peaceful practices.
General information about Holistic Baby Acupressure System
When the Holistic Baby Acupressure System arrived, I was a bit skeptical. I flipped through the manual BEFORE watching the DVD and I feared having to apply an acupuncture technique every two hours around the clock. THIS IS NOT TRUE.

Instructional DVD for Holistic Baby Acupressure System
I recommend that you watch the Instructional DVD before reading the manual. The DVD gives a lot of great tips and shows you how to find the acupuncture points easily. It shows you how to apply the knowledge using either a metal tool or your hand and tells you the difference between using the two.

The next thing to do after watching the DVD is to begin your sleep log for your child.

Instructional Manual for Holistic Baby Acupressure System
When we began using the Holistic Baby Acupressure System, Daniella routinely breastfed to sleep or near sleep, woke somewhere between 1 am and 3 am wanting to nurse briefly back to sleep (usually less than ten minutes), and then again between 5 am and 7 am wanting to breastfeed once more. She does not breastfeed during the day anymore having dropped her last daytime nursing session before nap a few months ago. We plan to allow Daniella to self wean.

Basics of the methods of the Holistic Baby Acupressure System
So Daniella would regularly fall asleep at night somewhere between 9:15 pm and 11 pm, wake between 1 am and 3 am, then wake again between 5 am and 7 am, waking for the day between 7 am and 7:45 am. Her nap time varied somewhere between 12:30 pm and 4 pm, varying in length between 45 minutes and 2.5 hours. It was just all over the place.

Some of acupuncture points shown
Glad to now know from the Instructional DVD that I didn't have to do acupuncture around the clock, but simply whenever Daniella or I was already awake, I felt much better about trying it out.

Following the protocol given in the DVD, we began using the Holistic Baby Acupressure System with Daniella. We noticed changes almost immediately.

Daniella stopped waking for middle of the night breastfeeding sessions within the first few days. She would still occasionally awaken between 5 am and 7 am, but since I am usually awake during that time for the start of my day, I was okay with that since it wasn't waking me.

Her naps became more routine as well. She now regularly naps for about an hour and a half somewhere between 2 pm and 4 pm. Bedtime isn't as early as we would prefer, but she now regularly falls asleep somewhere between 9:30 pm and 10:15 pm which is a much smaller window of time.
Overall, we have been very pleased with this program. There are many benefits to acupuncture, lots more than just better sleep. I think it is worth every penny of its retail value of $35.
