Day 16 of 40 Days of Random Acts of Kindness in Honor of Lent 2014

My Random Act of Kindness for my Giving Back Instead of Giving Up project for today involved going on a hike with the family to a very special place.
We enjoyed walking through the Outdoor Stations of the Cross at our church this evening after Mass. It was so peaceful in the woods. It's wonderful to see how much Brandon understands about what our Lord did for us. And it's a great time to begin helping Daniella understand.

We brought some small plastic shopping bag with us to gather some trash that we found along the pathway.

It was a very important lesson to help our children understand that where we were walking was a special place that should be treated with respect.

Sadly, we found quite a bit of trash out there. But we were more than happy to clean it up.

Daniella loves being outside in nature. Here, she was watching the rippling water in the creek.

Brandon was especially amazed at the amount of trash we found.

It was so quiet and peaceful which made it a great time to speak with and listen to the children. We talked about what the Stations of the Cross represent. We also talked about the importance of taking care of our trash AND being loving by helping clean up areas that are special to us.

In all, we filled an entire bag of trash AND an additional partial bag!
